Sleep wake disorders


Insomnia Disorder

The sleep disturbance cause clinically significant distress or impairment in social, occupational, educational, academic, behavioral, or other important areas of functioning.

The sleep difficulty occurs at least 3 nights per weak.

Hypersomnolence Disorder

The hypersomnolence occurs at least three times per week, for at least 3 months.

The hypersomnolence is accompanied by significant distress or impairment in cognitive, social occupational, or other important areas of functioning.

Narcolepsy 

Recurrent periods of an irrepressible need to sleep lapsing into sleep, or napping occuring within the same day, These must have been occurring at least three times per week over the past 3 months 

Obstructive Sleep Apnea Hypopnea 

Evidence by polysomnography of 15 or more obstructive apneas and or hypopneas per hour of sleep regardless of accompanying symptoms.

Central Sleep Apnea

Evidence by polysomnography of five or more central apneasa per hour of sleep.
The disorder is not better explained by another current sleep disorder.

Sleep-Related Hypoventilation

Polysomnograpy demonstrated episodes of descreased respiration associated with elevated CO2
levels.

1. Slurred Speech.

2. Incoordination.

3. Unsteady gait.

4. Nystagmus.

5. Impairment in attention or memory.

6. Stupor or coma. 

7. Autonomic hyperactivity (e.g., sweating or pulse rate greater than 100 bpm).

8. Increased hand tremor.

9. Insomnia.

10. Nausea or vomiting. 

11. Transient visual, tactile or auditory hallucinations or illusions.

12. Psychomotor agitation.

13. Anxiety.

14. Generalized tonic-clonic seizures.

Eating Disorder


Signs of An eating Disorder

(1) Constant adherence to increasingly            strictdiets, regardless of weight 

(2) Habitual trips to the bathroom immediately after eating 

(3) Secretly bingeing on large amounts of food 

(4) Secretly bingeing on large amounts of food

(5) Hoarding large amounts of food 
  
(6) Increase in consumption of laxatives, diureitics or diet pills

(7) Exercising compulsively, often several hours per day

(8) Using prescription stimulant medications (like Adderall) and/or illicit stimulant drugs 
         (like cocaine) to suppress appetite
